Assistant Editing for Beginners
On 17th June 2020 I ran a webinar for aspiring Assistant Editors for BECTU and The Rough Assembly as part of their Wednesday Webinars during lockdown. I am frequently approached by people at the outset of their careers looking for advice on getting into post production, and there aren’t many resources available detailing the specific skills you’ll need to progress as an assistant editor. While there are plenty of resources designed to enable you to ‘learn Avid’, few of them cover the broader picture of how individual skills fit into a professional workflow. This session covers the basics that I cover whenever I have a trainee in the cutting room and will hopefully help you get a head start on your training.
